EFU Life and Jazz launch ‘Hifazat Program’ to increase insurance penetration and financial inclusion

Islamabad: Jazz, Pakistan’s number one 4G operator and the largest internet and broadband service provider, has partnered with the country’s leading life insurance company EFU Life Assurance Ltd. to launch the ‘Hifazat Program’. Through this program, Jazz subscribers can opt for low-cost nano insurance products with unique benefits including income continuation, education continuation, and coverage for major medical illnesses. In addition, the customer’s entire family will be able to utilize virtual health care benefits.

Hifazat Program aims to increase the country’s insurance penetration and raise awareness of the benefits associated with education and health insurance. The program also seeks to create a visible social impact through financial inclusion and is in line with the Government’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy.

Chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Aamir Khan congratulated Jazz and EFU Life Pakistan for this initiative. He labeled it as an “out-of-the-box solution” which uses innovation to offer much-needed solutions to the masses. SECP Chairman said, “SECP fully supports the insurance industry for digital and mass-market initiatives that increase insurance penetration and financial inclusion”.

Speaking about this development, CEO & MD, EFU Life, Taher G. Sachak expressed that, “EFU Life as part of its long-term strategy continues to focus on financial inclusion propositions creating a positive impact in the lives of millions and our partnership with Jazz is a significant step in that direction”.

Moving forward, we hope to expand this program, adding new products to benefit those who need it the most,” added Jazz Chief Commercial Officer, Asif Aziz.

To manage the vertical of virtual health care, EFU Life has onboarded Hello Doctor, a subsidiary of Rehability UK. Hello Doctor, will be providing unlimited access to general practitioners and appointment-based consultations with specialists using both, smart and feature phones. Lifestyle improvement features which include videos by doctors, nutritionists, beauticians, and chefs allow users to learn the best way to keep themselves and their families healthy.

Hifazat Program offers various plans customized according to the subscribers needs. Payments are deducted on a daily or monthly basis via the customer’s airtime balance, making the process effortless.
